PURPOSE:To produce a silver-palladium alloy of fine grain sizes by dropping an aq. soln. contg. specific amts. of hydrogen peroxide, silver ions, palladium ions and nitrate radicals into an aq. strong basic soln. of specific concns. and reducing the resultant precipitate. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. which contains 10-50g hydrogen peroxide in 1l water, 10-200g silver ions, 10-100g palladium ions, as well as nitrate radicals, and wherein the weight ratios of the palladium ions to both silver palladium ions are 0.1-0.3 is dropped and mixed at 4:1-1:4 vol. ratios to and with a 0.2-5 normal aq. strong basic soln. The resultant precipitate is heated for 0.5- 3hr at 80-180 deg.C in a hydrogen atmosphere, whereby it is reduced. Thus the fine powder of the silver-palladium alloy with 0.1-0.5mu grain sizes consisting of 10-30wt% palladium and the balance silver and unavoidable impurities is obtained. |
