PURPOSE:To perform the gold and silver patterning on pre-fired glaze of a pottery by a method in which a transfer paper patterned with a printing paint composed of gold powder, alumina powder, quartz powder, and a printing medium is applied on the green graze and being subjected to filling-up fired at a temperature above the melting point of gold for patterning. CONSTITUTION:A pre-fired glaze is applied on a pottery product, and the glaze is coated with a synthetic resin liquid, etc., for suppressing the water absorbability of the glaze. Then, a transfer paper patterned with a printing paste composed of one or more of gold powder, alumina powder, zirconium oxide powder, and zirconium silicate powder and quartz powder (in the case of gold or silver patterning, palladium powder is further added to these and the mixture is mixed with a printing medium) is applied on the pre-fired glaze by sliding transfer method, etc., and then baked at a temperature above the melting point (1,063 deg.C) of gold in an oxidative atmosphere, whereupon the glaze is vitrified and at the same time a gold and silver-colored metallic pattern film is formed. EFFECT:Simple in adjusting paste viscosity, with excellent printability at low cost. |
