Two double-acting hot air engines 1, 2 of the type containing two parallel crankshafts 11, 12 and 13, 14, respectively, are coupled together such that the first crankshaft 11 in the first engine 1 is in fixed connection with and in line with the first crankshaft 13 in the second engine 2, and in fixed connection with a first electric generator 21. In the same way, the second crankshaft 14 in the second engine 2 is in fixed connection with the second crankshaft 12 in the first engine 1 and with a second electric generator 22.
