PURPOSE:To increase the length of a burst error which causes data to become uncorrectable by obtaining a set of data extracted discretely from data blocks of time-series data, and imposing interleaving upon a data string rearrayed by a set string. CONSTITUTION:(m)-Number of data arrayed in time-series order and R-number parity words arranged following them are divided into (a) groups, i.e. a group of the starting ... (aXj+1)th words, a group of words up to the (aXj+2)th word, ..., a group of words up to the (aXj+a)th words. In each group, data are arranged in time-series order and parity words are arranged following them. Those (a) groups are rearranged in the order of a group containing the starting data in the time-series order, a group containing the 2nd data, ..., a group of the (a)th data, thus rearranging the data in blocks. Then, interleaving operation is carried out to increase the length of a burst error which causes signal data succeeding in the time-series order to become uncorrectable. |
