PURPOSE:To make an ultrasonic probe highly sensitive and to enable the transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves with little reflection loss by a method wherein inorganic piezoelectric materials having different acoustic impedance are laminated in a prescribed sequence. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric materials 10 and 12 are laminated, and are held by a packing material 14 and an acoustic matched layer 16 between, and thereby an ultrasonic probe 20 is formed. From the layers 10 and 12, ultrasonic waves UAW having different frequencies are transmitted to an object and received therefrom. The piezoelectric materials 10 and 12 are inorganic piezoelctric materials having different acoustic impedance, and are arranged so that the accoustic impedance is larger or smaller in sequence from the side of the object to be probed. As the result, the transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves with little reflection loss are enabled. |
