PURPOSE:To move correctly the cente of discs different in diameter. by driving differentially two disc guide members which are provided in the longitudinal direction of a disc insertion entrance, symmetrically with respect to the center of the aperture part of this entrance. CONSTITUTION:Two disc guide members 4 and 4' are provided in the longitudinal direction of a disc insertion entrance and are stood on supporting bases 8 and 8'. Supporting bases 8 and 8' can be moved laterally along guide rail 5 and 5' through pulleys 6 and 6' and are driven differentially by a wire 13 stretched between pulleys 10 and 11 driven by motors which are not shown in figure. Disc guide members 4 and 4' have optical sensors 17 and 17' respectively, and driving mechanisms which are not shown in the figure are controlled by outputs of sensors 17 and 17' to move supporting bases 8 and 8' so that supporting bases 8 and 8' are always symmetrical with respect to a center line A passing through the center of the insertion entrance. Thus, the center of a disc 2 is moved along the center line A to load the disc 2 correctly independently of the size of the diameter of the disc 2. |
