PURPOSE:To make unnecessary the ink refilling work at the time of shipment and arrival of the products by a method wherein an ink supply pump is initially filled with ink by utilizing a recovery pump used to recover the ink from a gutter and an accumulator. CONSTITUTION:The supply side of an ink tank 1 and the suction side of a recovery pump 13 are connected together through a changeover valve 15, whereas the discharge side of the recover pump 13 and the suction side of a supply pump 2 are connected together through the accumulator 3 and the changeover valve 14. The recover pump 13 is operated when ink is initially filled up and the recover pump 13 is caused to suck the ink in an ink tank 1 through a pipe 18 and the changeover valve 15 and the discharge it from the discharge port, so that the ink is stored in the portion from a changeover valve 16, a pipe 20 and the accumulator 3 up to the changeover 14 located this side of the suction side of the supply pump 2. Subsequently, the supply pump 2 is initially filled with the ink according to the pressure difference by setting open the portion between A-B, or the changeover valves 14 and 17. |
