<p>PURPOSE:To minimize the maintenance cost by reducing various kinds of heat radiation losses by a method wherein the time required for operating a heater is calculated by obtaining a calorific value to be applied to supply water with respect to a predetermined quantity of hot water to be used on the next day and the heater is opeated for as long as the calculated time. CONSTITUTION:Assuming that the inputted value of the quantity of hot water for the next day predetermined by a hot water quantity setting device 4 is V liters, the hot water temperature set value is T deg.C and the value detected by a hot water temperature sensor 5 at the time around the initiation of power supply to the water heater is t deg.C, an operator 6 operates the equation of Q=(T-t)V(kcal) to thereby calculate a calorific value corresponding to the hot water quantity set value and the temperature of the supply water. Then an operator 7 operates Q/(860XW) to calculate the required heater energization time H and the heater is controlled by a timer 8 on the base of the time H. Thus, it is possible to diversify the heater operating time by obtaining the calorific value according to the temperaure of the supply water with respect to the predetermined quantity of hot water for the next day and then calculating the required heater operating time on the base of the calorific value and further, since the required heater operating time is determined according to the quantity of hot water and the temperature of the supply water, it is possible to equalize the power load on the heater when the heater is operated electrically and to promote the power supply efficiency for the heater.</p> |
