Arrangement for an induction furnace of channel type containing a bath 1 for metal, a system of melt channels 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 arranged underneath the bath in a vertical or sloping plane, two closed magnetic cores 7, 8 with windings 9, 10, an open magnetic core 11 with windings 12, 13, and an outlet opening 14. The closed magnetic cores 7, 8 enclose the side channels 2, 3. The tap line 14 is connected to the central channel 4. The central channel 4 and the side channels 2, 3 are joined to each other by connection channels 5, 6, which extend along upwardly converging lines and form a common section, connected to the central channel 4, while each channel 5, 6 is arranged at an angle in the range of 10 degrees to 80 degrees relative to the axis of the central channel 4. The common section of the connection channels 5, 6 and the central channel 4 is situated between the pole shoes 11a, 11b of the open magnetic core, so that the composite length of the central channel 4 and the common section of the channels 5, 6 does not exceed the height of the pole shoes of the magnetic core 11. <IMAGE> |
