PURPOSE:To make a printer for printing small characters on a large plate possible to perform printing at a high speed and reduce the driving force of the printer by adding a small moving device for printing to a large moving device of the printer. CONSTITUTION:Rails 2, 2 are arranged at both sides of a steel plate 1 to be printed in parallel thereto, and a beam 4 is spanned on the rails with small trucks 3 placed between them and a saddle 5 which is freely movable in the direction of Y axis is provided along the beam 4. Under a block 5a constructed integrally with the saddle 5, a small linear guide 6 extending in the direction of Y axis and a small linear guide 7, which is freely movable along the guide 6 and extends in the direction of X axis, are provided and a print head which is freely movable in the direction of X axis, is provided on the guide 7. Consequently, a print position on the steel plate 1 is selected by the small trucks 3 and the saddle 5 and when a character is printed, the print head 8 is moved along both guides 6, 7. By this arrangement, the force of inertia at the time of printing is reduced and printing can be performed at a high speed. |
