<p>PURPOSE:To cool a bar- or bloom-like ingot by injecting jet flow or spray flow to the coner parts of the ingot from the two directions at a right angle to the traveling direction of the ingot thereby converting the flow to steam and depriving the ingot of the predetermined quantity of heat. CONSTITUTION:The nozzles 15 of nozzle heads 1 are located in positions 1a, 1b, and the positions are determined in the corner parts of respective ingots 1c-1f. Further, jet or spray flows 1g, 1h as regulating factors enclose the ingot from all the sides to prevent the generation of Leidenfrost's phenomena and the poats where the flows 1g, 1h do not reach. The injected or sprayed coolants are converted to steam which deprives the ingot of the precalculated quantity of heat.</p> |
