PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the range to an objective substance accurately, in the rangefinder in triangulation method using solid state image sensors, by controlling the electric charge storing time of the solid state image sensors by the output signal of a sunshine sensor. CONSTITUTION:When the sunshine is strong, the output signal level of the sunshine sensor is also increased. When this level is inputted into a computer 5, the computer 5 selects the short electric charge storing time and the time is switched. Since the image signals of the right and left image sensors 2a and 2b are proportional to the amount of incident light, the amount of the light is decreased by stopping right and left stops 3a and 3b when the average value of the image signals exceeds a reference value. The image signals are inputted to the computer 5 through peripheral circuits 4a and 4b. In this way, even though the direct sunshine is received, the temperature is detected and the electric charge storing time is shortened. Therefore, the S/N ratio of the image sensors is not decreased, and the range to the objective substance can be accurately measured. |
