<p>PURPOSE:To decompose sludge within a short period and to remove a putrid smell from the sludge, by putting a box provided with exhaust ports on a sludge layer at the water-side, sinking the box to separate the sluge layer from a water layer, anaerobically fermenting the sludge, and aerobically treating the water. CONSTITUTION:A bottomed box 6 provided with exhaust ports 7 is put on a sludge layer 8 in a river, lake, bay or the like in an open casing state, and sunk. The box 6 acts as a methane fermentation vessel. The sludge is anaerobically digested, while methane gas is extracted. On the other hand, the water layer 9 is subjected to aeration or the like in the state that the water layer 9, on the roof of the box 6 acting as a bottom, is separated from the sludge layer 8. Thus, BOD is lowered, and the water is purified.</p> |
