PURPOSE:To obtain a vertically magnetized recording head having increased mechanical strength for a coil, by providing a coil around a magnetic core made of a material having high permeability and fixing the conductive wire of the coil into a nonmagnetic solid material. CONSTITUTION:A coil 2 is wound around a magnetic core 1 connected magnetically to a thin film 5 of high permeability. A nonmagnetic and wear-resistant layer 3 is formed to sandwich the film 5. This process prevents the wear of a vertical recording medium 4 owing to contact and can protect the surface of the recording head. A conductor part 6 of the coil 2 is buried into a nonmagnetic solid material 7 to increase the mechanical strength of the coil 2. Thus it is possible to support mechanically the layer 3 by the coil 2. This process can reduce the thickness of the layer 3 in comparison with the radius (r) of the coil 2. The coil 2 is mechanically connected to the core 1 through an adhering part 8. The material 7 uses mainly a polymer resin material, an inorganic cement material or a glass material. It is also possible to ensure contact between a single surface of the coil 2 and the medium 4 by adding a wear-resistant material, a lubricant material, etc. into the material 7. |
