<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a generator and to reduce the size of the generator by providing the brake coil which generates a brake torque due to DC excitation in response to the variation in a load in insulation from the load coil of the generator. CONSTITUTION:A load 5 is connected through a power distribution line 3 and a switch 4 to the U-phase coil 2 of an induction motor 2 which is driven by a water wheel, to which water of the prescribed amount is supplied, the coil is operated as a load coil, an exciting condenser 7 is connected to the V-phase coil 6, which operates as an exciting coil. A thyristor 9 is connected between the terminal of the W-phase coil 8. A regulator 10 controls the firing phase of a thyristor 9 so that the detected voltage or frequency becomes the preset value, thereby regulating the current which flows through the W-phase coil becoming a control coil to regulate the brake torque which is produced in a generator 1. In this manner, since quasi-resistance can be eliminated, the generator can be reduced in size.</p> |
