MAGNET ROLL AND ITS PREPARATION

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet roll of strong magnetism which is very easy to manufacture by such an arrangement wherein the direction of easily magnetized axis of compound magnetic layer is caused to run in the direction of magnetic field between magnetic poles in the upper layer portion of the roll and the direction of such axis is caused to run from the surface to the center of the roll in its lower layer portion. CONSTITUTION:A magnet roll 20 is provided around the outer circumference of an anisotropic compound magnet layer 21 having plural magnetic poles. Easily magnetizable axes of the upper layer portion of the layer 21 are oriented in the direction of magnetic field between those magnetic poles. Also, easily magnetizable axes in the lower layer portion are oriented in the direction from the surface of the roll 20 to its axis. Magnetic fields to be formed in space around the outer circumference of the roll 20 become strong above each magnetic pole and become weak above the space between magnetic poles.
