PURPOSE:To accurately and easily detect coil tightness and to properly control it, by calculating to obtain a calculation value indicating the coil tightness by using the number of turns of a coil, the thickness, width, and specific gravity of a strip, and the inner diameter and weight of the coil. CONSTITUTION:A coil tightness arithmetic device 24, for instance, receives a signal (n), indicating the number of turns of a coil 16, from a tachometer 20 at the time of finishing a coiling of the coil 16 in accordance with an output of a computor 22 used for a host production controlling system. The thickness (t), width (b), and specific gravity (a) of a strip 12 and the inner diameter and weight of the coil, inputted and memorized to and by the computor 22 are used in the equation to calculate and output a calculation value S, indicating the tightness of the coil 16, by the computor 22. A proper value of the calculation value S for each mill is determined independently. |
