PURPOSE:To obtain a device having high speed and good efficiency by charging molten metal into the casting mold spaces formed when the movable casting molds are closed to solidify, and removing the formed casting ingots by opening said molds. CONSTITUTION:Plural movable casting molds 12 are arranged circumferentially in the outside circumferential part of a casting wheel which is installed freely rotatably in a vertical direction. The molds 12 are equally divided in a rectangular strip shape circumferentially, and are arranged regularly apart from each other at a slight spacing between the adjacent molds. Each mold 12 is divided to two right and left symmetrical mold pieces 12a, 12a which are made to open and close in both lateral directions of the wheel 11 within the plane along the radial direction of the wheel 11. The operation of the pieces 12a, 12 is pivoted freely turnably on a shaft 19 via arms 13, brackets 17 and links 18 by an equalizing link mechanism 16. When the molds 12 come successively to the position A according to the rotation of the wheel 11, molten metal 38 is charged into casting spaces 37, and the molds 12 are opened in the positions B D so that the cast ingots are removed successively. |
