PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency and safety of a die exchanging operation, by respectively providing roll tables used for transferring a pipe and new and old master dies onto a dolly which is provided, movably in the direction perpendicular to a press line, to the outlet side of an O-press. CONSTITUTION:The center line of a roll table 25 for carrying out old master dies is made to coincide with the center line (center line of rolls for transferring master dies in a press 8) of the O-press 8 by moving a dolly 20 in the direction perpendicular to a press line C. Next, all of old master dies 1A, 2A are moved onto the table 25 by actuating the table 25 and transferring rolls. Next, the center line of a roll table 26 for carrying in new master dies is made to coincide with that of the press 8 by moving the dolly 20 to move all new master dies 1B, 2B placed on the table 26 to the inside of the press 8. Then an O-pipe, after being formed by the press 8, is transferred onto a roll table 24, used for transferring the O-pipe, by making the table 24 coincide with the center line of the press 8. |
