PURPOSE:To improve the material yield of a mouth ring, by changing a rolling reduction rate in the direction of width of a strip and forming said strip into a circular ring having wedge-shaped sectional form. CONSTITUTION:A ring material 4 rolled to a wedge shape in sectional form by rolls 2, 3 passes through the window 36 of a screen 35 through an outlet guide 6 and a guide 34, and goes to the backside. At this time, the outer peripheral length of the ring material 4 is measured by a rotary encoder 24, and when it arrives at the required outer peripheral length, a cylinder 30 operates, and a traveling cutter 26 starts to rotate at the same angular velocity as the movement of the ring material 4. When it is detected that the ring material arrives at the required outer peripheral length, the cylinder 31 of the traveling cutter operates and cuts the ring material 4. A part of the end of cut ring material 4 is superposed and welded, and drawn. Thus, a mouth ring is manufactured. |
