<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a speed change shock at starting of a vehicle, by establishing a speed change condition of the second speed shift to a speed change device when the vehicle is stopped under a released condition of an accelerator pedal and preventing a creep while suitably regulating oil pressure in a frictional element at the time of said operative condition. CONSTITUTION:A gear speed change device 22 having speed change stages of four forward shifts and one reverse shift is constituted by three sets of clutches 24, 26, 28, two sets of brakes 30, 32, one set of one-way clutch 36 and one set of Ravigneawx planetary gear mechanism 36. Here a detector detecting a released condition of an accelerator pedal and a detector detecting a stopped condition of a vehicle are equipped, and pressure oil is supplied to the clutch 26 and the brake 30 under the stopped condition of the vehicle at released time of the accelerator pedal, then these clutch and brake are placed in an engaged condition to obtain a speed change stage of the second speed shift. While at this time, a hydraulic control circuit is constituted to regulate the pressure of oil fed to said brake 30 lower than the pressure of oil fed to the clutch 24.</p> |
