PURPOSE:To provide a full automatic platemaking machine high in platemaking efficiency and low in running cost, by effectively utilizing the most of all the light energy emitted from a flash discharge tube as a platemaking energy. CONSTITUTION:A platemaking machine has a feed mechanism for feeding a rolled printing paper 2, a platemaking mechanism employing a flash discharge tube 7 and a guilotine mechanism which guilotines the printing paper 2 into a predetermined length. The platemaking machine further has a reflecting member 11 (e.g., an aluminum material or plate having its surface coated with a light- transmitting plastic film 19) provided on the surface of a press plate 12 of the platemaking mechanism through a cushioning material 10. When the flash discharge tube 7 is operated to emit light, the direct light and the light reflected by a reflecting mirror 8 reach an original 3. Although a part of the light energy reaching the non-character image part of the original 3 is reflected, the rest passes through the original 3 to reach the reflecting member 11. However, the most of the transmitted light is reflected by the reflecting member 11 to return to the reflecting mirror 8 so as to be utilized as a platemaking energy. |
