PURPOSE:To enable sea water to be easily taken in a ship by providing an opening end in a sea water intake box on the bottom and connecting a sea water intake pipe through a flange to a sea water intake seat pipe connected to a sea water pump. CONSTITUTION:When sea water needs to be taken in a ship being built on a building berth for example, an opening end and a sea water intake pipe 8 in a sea water intake box 1 are connected through a flange 3 to a sea water intake seat pipe 2 in said box 1 provided in a proper position on the bottom of a hull S. When a sea water intake main valve 4 is opened to run a sea water pump 5, sea water cools a cooler 6 and then is discharged outboard from a drain port 7. Thus, temporary pipes and hoses for taking in sea water are not needed and sea water can be rapidly and easily taken in without any danger. |
