The method consists in placing a hollow metal tube 34 in a hole of a ceramic support 32, before the sintering of the latter, in sintering the ceramic support containing the tube so that, when the ceramic support shrinks, it forms around the tube a hermetic seal due to the reaction bonding between the tube and the ceramic, and in hermetically closing at least one 34b of the ends of the tube 34. Particular application to the production of feed-through assemblies for implantable prosthetic units.
