It concerns a brake whose rotary braking member 10 is in the shape of a ring, the said rotary member being globally axially elongated in order to cooperate with brake shoes 23A, 23B. According to the invention, the rotary member 10 is globally frustoconical, but only has a reduced conicity C, the said conicity C, defined as being the angle which the mean generatrix makes with respect to the axis of the assembly, being in practice less than 10 DEG .
