1463598 Treating vegetable material ESCHER WYSS Ltd 4 July 1974 [5 July 1973] 29777/74 Heading A2Q In a process for removing pest-control substances in vegetable solids, e.g. grain, bran, ground nut shells, the substance travels in a horizontal fluidised bed and steam is passed vertically through to evaporate the pest control substance. In a suitable apparatus the solid treated enters at 5 and leaves at 7. The fluidized bed is in two parts 11 and 12. Part 11 is fed with air from conduit 17 and steam from conduit 18, via blower 19 and heater 20. The exhaust gases pass through dust extractor 21, which discharges into chute 5 and extractor fan 23. Part 12 is fed with steam from conduit 28 via dust extractor 24, which discharges in chute 7, blower 26 and heater 27. The exhaust steam is recycled. |
