PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality, by making the potential of a toner in a hopper approximately equal to the potential of a sleeve and preventing the caking of the high resistance magnetic toner due to potential difference to supply the toner smoothly. CONSTITUTION:Electric power is supplied from a terminal of a developing bias power source 8, which is connected to a sleeve 4 by a feeding brush 13 or the like, to a doctor blade 6 and a hopper 5 through conductors 11 and 12, and the potential difference around a toner 7 is eliminated to prevent the occurrence of a toner caking layer due to electrostatic attraction of each particle of the toner. The toner is caked and is not supplied when voltages of the blade 6 and the sleeve 4 become >=250V; but when the same voltage as the voltage supplied to the sleeve 4 is applied to the blade 6 to eliminate the potential difference between the sleeve 4 and the blade 6, caking of the toner disappears, and a good picture is obtd. |
