摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the aperture efficiency as well as to simplify the identification of the vertical pitch of the picture element of the titled image pickup device by a method wherein a double transfer three-phase CCD is brought under the condition where one phase is in floating state or under the condition where it is fixed in such a manner that a direct current is applied, and the other two phases are driven by applying pulse on them. CONSTITUTION:If this double transfer three-phase CCD is fixed in such a manner that a direct current is applied as shown in the diagram, it can be operated by a two-phase clock. In this case, the amplitude of the V1 pulse is doubled and the duty of the V2 pulse is also doubled comparing with the operation by the three- phase clock. As the potential of the V3 is always maintained constant, a potential gradient is formed using the electrodes V1 and V2 located in front and in rear, thereby enabling to transfer a signal charge. When this idea is applied to an It-CCD, a two-phase driving electrode can be used and aperture efficiency can also be increased. Besides, as two electrodes are used for two picture element, the pitch of the picture element in vertical direction can be identified easily, thereby enabling to eliminate the waste space existed in the conventional device.
