A seat, for example a chair, sofa, bench or the like, has its seat surface (Fig. 9) consisting of at least one front part (4), an intermediate part (15) and a rear part (16), which jointly form angles along two breaking lines (17, 18) between the said parts. The breaking lines (17, 18) are substantially parallel to the front edge of the seat surface, and the first of the said breaking lines (17) lies substantially perpendicularly under the ischia of a seated person, while the second breaking line (18) lies approximately perpendicularly below or slightly in front of the tip of the coccygeal vertebra of the seated person. The rear part (18) extending rearwards from the second breaking line extends to a position approximately perpendicularly below or somewhat behind the outer gluteal muscles or the back area of the seated person. <IMAGE> |
