NEW MATERIAL:A peptide expressed by the formula (R is C10H21 or C11H23). USE:An inhibitor against cyclic adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate phosphodiesterase (hereinafter abbreviated to PDE) having the possibility of improving the saccharide metabolism, cardiotonic action, smooth muscle relaxing action, bronchodilator action, coronary arterial vasodilator action and improving action on lipid metabolism, etc. by controlling the level of the cyclic adenosine monophosphate (hereinafter abbreviated to cAMP) in cells to inhibit the hydrolytic enzyme PDE of the cAMP and further expectable antihypertensive, antiallergic and antiasthmatic action, etc. PROCESS:A strain, e.g. Bacillus subtilis c-756 (FERM-P No. 6785), belonging to the genus Bacillus, and having the ability to produce a peptide containing acyl groups is cultivated in a general culture medium consisting of a carbon source, nitrogen source and inorganic salt to separate, collect and obtain the above- mentioned peptide containing the acryl groups. |
