PURPOSE:To prevent ground fogging from being augmented even when a color former or a color developer is pulverized, by a method wherein a surface active agent having a specified structure is added into a heat-sensitive color forming layer as a hydrophobic group, in a heat-sensitive recording sheet provided with a heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising a color former and a color developer. CONSTITUTION:In a heat-sensitive recording sheet wherein a heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising a colorless or light-colored electron-donative dye and an electron-acceptive compound capable of forming a color by reacting with the dye as main constituents is provided on a base, a surface active agent having the structure of the formula is incorporated in the color forming layer as a hydrophobic group. In the formula, R1 and R2 may be the same or different, and each thereof is a 3-18C alkyl group, a 6-18C aryl group, a 7-18C aralkyl group or a 5-10C cycloalkyl group. When the number of carbon atoms contained in the group R1 that or in the group R2 exceeds 18, solubility of the surface active agent in water is markedly lowered, so that it becomes difficult to put the agent into practical use. The surface active agent is used in a quantity of 0.001-10pts.wt. (as solids) per the 100pts.wt. (as solids) of the color former. |
