PURPOSE:To attain excellent adjustment by switching a signal supplied to a shift register at a desired time of focusing. CONSTITUTION:In a display device such as liquid crystal where plural selecting circuits are provided at least in one direction and signals applied in common are displayed in time division, the signal having picture elements more than the number of selecting circuits. In this case, the selecting circuits are controlled in the timing corresponding to the synchronism of the signals in the 1st mode and the entire signals are displayed. That is, shift registers 2, 4 are driven by driving pulses phiH, phiV, and start pulses phiSH, phiSV. In the 2nd mode, the selecting circuits are controlled in the timing corresponding to the picture element of signals and a part of the signals is displayed. That is, the shift registers 2, 4 are driven by clock signals phi'H, phi'V and phi'S. These modes are changed over by switches 14, 15, 19, 24, 25 and 29, and focused in the 2nd mode. |
