<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the interference of a track identification signal with a video signal, by recording the track identification signal with a head having an azimuth different from that of a head which records the video signal. CONSTITUTION:The second heads 18a and 18b are provided in addition to the first heads 12 and 13 used for recording and reproducing of the video signal, and the second heads 18a and 18b are set to a head drum 11 with an azimuth different from that of the first head 12. In case that the first head 13 records the video signal on a track 3<1>, a changeover switch 274 selects a signal source 271 to give the signal to the second head 18b through a switch 224 and a transformer 234. Therefore, the track identification signal of 1MHz and the video signal are written on the track 3<1> one over the other. Hereafter, each time the track where the video signal should be recorded is switched, the changeover switch 274 is switched successively and cyclically similarly. Therefore, track identification signals having frequencies different from each other between adjacent tracks are recorded on tracks of a magnetic tape 1.</p> |
