The sound barrier panel comprises a concrete carrier plate (I) with a porous sound-absorbent layer (2) which faces the sound source and consists of light concrete contg. fine and coarse light aggregate with binding agents. - The outer surface of this layer (2) is provided with vertical slots (3) each connecting with a circular or oval-section vertically extending cavity (4). The widths of the slots and/or the cross-sections of the cavities may be different. - The (reinforced) plate (1) is pref. poured in normal concrete using shuttering, longitudinally finned plastic tubes positioned above the concrete, the layer (2) then poured and, after setting, the tubes are axially withdrawn and layer (2) smoothed down.
