PURPOSE:To prevent sheets of paper from being conveyed together as they are piled up, by providing a roller and a belt in contact with each other to convey only the uppermost sheet of paper by the roller and stop the other lower sheets of paper due to the differential force on the belt when the plural sheets of paper are inserted in between the roller and the belt. CONSTITUTION:When plural sheets of paper 8 are inserted in between a roller 10 and a belt 11, the uppermost sheet is conveyed by the roller and the lowermost sheet is stopped by the belt 11. At that time, the intermediate sheets do not directly receive the conveying and the stopping actions but are naturally affected by the motion of the adjacent sheets so that the uppermost sheet slightly pulls out the second uppermost sheet, such actions work on the other lower sheets sequentially and the sheets except for the uppermost one are thus sequentially stopped by the belt 11 and placed as an inverted staircase at their front edges. Since the sheets of paper 8 except for the uppermost one are pressed further by a pushing force caused by the slip contact between the belt 11 and the sheets are oriented in a direction shown by an arrow 24, the sheets are stopped more effectively. |
