PURPOSE:To attain a combinational picture where a density difference between both pictures is reduced, by correcting densities of picture elements near boundaries of pictures to be combined to combine plural pictures. CONSTITUTION:Sizes and positions of pictures A and B are so set on a basis of respective picture signals that these pictures A and B overlap by a width (a). Densities of individual picture element signals of the picture A on the boundary having this width (a) are multiplied by a properly selected density conversion factor, which reduces respective densities toward the side of the picture B gradually, to attain the first picture signal. Densities of individual picture element signals of the picture B on the boundary having the width (a) are multiplied by a properly selected density conversion factor, which reduces respective densities toward the side of the picture A gradually, to attain the second picture signal. Density-corrected first and second picture signals are combined by superposing to attain a picture signal, and a proper output means is used to blur the combinational picture near the boundary. |
