PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a capacitor and to improve a welding quality and a welding reliability by placing a boosting transformer on the primary side of a resistance welding power source device which utilizes the capacitor, and also containing the whole power source in a vessel of an insulating gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A center tap is provided on the primary side of a power source transformer 12 of a device which brings a material to be welded 1 to resistance welding, and a high voltage capacitor 15 is connected through contactors 14a, 14b which are connected across the primary coil and switched and controlled by controllers 13a, 13b, respectively. Also, the high voltage capacitor 15 is connected to the secondary side of a boosting transformer 18 through a control resistance 17 and a rectifying device 16. Said whole power source device is contained in a high pressure tank 20 of an insulating gas atmosphere of SF6, etc. The commercial voltage in a terminal 7 is boosted to 60,000V by the boosting transformer 18, therefore, even if the capacity of the capacitor 15 is small, an extremely large electric energy is stored, the whole device can be made small-sized, and also the resistance welding of an excellent quality is executed stably. |
