PURPOSE:A fungi and insects-controlling sheet in which a part of the powder obtained by curing an alkali silicate solution with a curing agent is exposed to the surface of the sheet, thus controlling the growth and proliferation of fungi and acari with long-term duration and high safety. CONSTITUTION:A solution of alkali silicate of the formula (M is K, Li, Na, quaternary ammonium; n is 0.5-9) is cured with a curing agent (which has preferably higher alkali curing effect) and the resultant powder of the composition is crushed into particles of <= about 100mu. Then, a sheet such as paper, cellophane, polyolefin, polyester is coated with the powder on its surface and the sheet is applied to the placed where control of fungi and acari is required or the sheet is formed in an appropriate shape for application.
