PURPOSE:To obtain a silver oxide cell with stable internal resistance and a large capacity by forming a reduced silver layer on the surface in contact with the positive electrode case of a positive electrode black mix using silver (II) oxide as an active material and the surface facing a negative electrode and depositing gold on this reduced silver layer. CONSTITUTION:When producing a positive electrode black mix 2, first a positive electrode black mix mold body made of 90wt% of AgO, 7wt% of Ag2O, 2wt% of CdO, and 1wt% of low-polymerization degree powder of ethylene tetrafluoride is formed, and after an acid-proof resin film 3 with a thickness of 10mum is provided on one surface of this mold body, it is immersed in the 1.5vol% methanol solution of hydrazine for a fixed time to produce a silver layer of about 20mum. Next, it is immersed in the 0.01mol/ laqueous solution of chloroauric acid for a fixed time. A black mix 2 having a silver layer 2a thus coated with gold on the surface of silver grains is filled by pressure into a positive electrode case 1, then it is sealed together with a separator 4, a liquid containing agent 5, and a gel-like negative electrode 7 made by mixing gelling agent powder, alkali electrolyte, and zinc amalgam through an insulating gasket 6 with a metal seal plate 8, then a silver oxide cell with stable internal resistance and a large capacity can be obtained. |
