PURPOSE:To obtain a hot dipped material having no unplated part in a method for subjecting a long-sized material to continuous hot dipping by using a flux by applying a specific output or above of ultrasonic oscillation on a plating bath. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized material 1 coated thereon with a flux is immersed by a sinker roll 3 in a plating bath 2 and is then pulled up through a squeezer 4, thereby obtaining a plated material 5. A nozzle 7 for ultrasonic wave of an ultrasonic wave generator provided near the bath 2 into which the material 1 is admitted is disposed oppositely to the material 1 and the ultrasonic oscillation is applied on the bath 2 by the generator 6. The output of the ultrasonic wave is required to be >=2W/cm<2> with respect to the unit area of the material to be plated in the bath 2 from the inlet of the bath 2 to the part where it contacts first the sinker roll. The residue of the resulting product of reaction of the flux sticking on the material 1 is thus thoroughly removed and the cleaned surface of the material 1 reacts thoroughly with the bath 2, thereby obtaining the plated material 5 having no unplated part. |
