PURPOSE:To carry the heavy cargo safely and easily by a method wherein the heavy cargo on an air pressure levitating type cargo bed is pulled and slid on a given path set on the flat floor surface in a factory utilizing a self-propelled carriage for pulling light weight cargo. CONSTITUTION:The advancing self-propelled carriage 1 and the retreating self- propelled carriage 2 are provided with driving wheels 5, driven by built-in batteries 14, and steering wheels 6, controlled by an optical automatic steering control means. The optical automatic steering control means controls the steering by reading optically a reading line provided on the floor surface 4 along the running path of the carriage. When the cargo 16 on the cargo bed 3 is carried, a blower 10 is operated to supply pressure air to a predetermined place of the cargo bed 3 through a flexible tube 11 and the cargo is slid along the given path by operating the advancing self-propelled carriage 1, for example, and the cargo bed 3 is pulled together with the retreating self-propelled carriage 2 under a condition that the cargo bed 3 is floated from the floor surface 4 by the pressure air. |
