PURPOSE:To permit to provide a thread with one turn of twist at every turns of the thread around a pipe by a method wherein a thread guide is rotated by one turn during one revolution around the pipe into the reverse direction of the revolving direction. CONSTITUTION:In case the thread T is supplied to a pipe 3 on a spindle 2 through a thread guide 32 to wind the pipe, a rotor mechanism 20 and first and second driving gears 34, 35 are moved downwardly to locate the thread guide 32 at the lower part of the pipe 3, a driving mechanism 10 is operated under this condition and the spindle 2 is moved up-and-down so as to effect traverse motion with a constant stroke into the axial direction thereof by the rotation of a traverse cam 9. At the same time, a rotor 21, a ring gear 23 and the gear 33 of a thread passing shaft 31 are rotated by the rotations of the first and second driving gears 34, 35 driven by the rotation of the driving shaft 8, and the thread guide 32 is revolved under rotating by one turn into the reverse direction of the revolution at every one revolution around the pipe 3. Further, the pipe is moved into the axial direction thereof from the lower position to the upper position by moving the rotor mechanism 20 upwardly and the thread T is wound around the pipe 3 under providing it with one twist at every one turn of the thread. |
