NEW MATERIAL:The 4-(4biphenyl)-4-oxobutyric acid cyclodextrin clathrate compound. USE:A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agent. The solubility in water and the absorbability through the digestive tracts can be improved by converting the acid in the form of clathrate. PREPARATION:4-(4-Biphenyl)-4-oxobutyric acid of formula is added as it is or in the form of a solution in an organic solvent miscible with water, e.g. an acetone solution, to an aqueous solution (preferably a saturated solution) of cyclodextrin, and the mixture is stirred at 20-60 deg.C for 4hr -1 day.
