PURPOSE:An aromatic polyether-ketone copolymer having good crystallinity and besides excellent processability, containing aromatic dihydroxy compound-derived structural units bonded in a specified manner of bonding. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyether-ketone copolymer (reduced viscosity of 0.2-2) wherein the structural unit of formula I (wherein R is H or a lower alkyl) is bonded at random to a structural unit of formula II (wherein n is 1-3) through a structural unit of formula III in such a manner than the structural units I and II are not adjacent to each other. The above copolymer is produced by cocondensing an alkali metal disalt of an aromatic dihydroxy compound of formula IV [e.g., bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)methane], with an alkali metal disalt of an aromatic dihydroxy compound of formula V (e.g., hydroquinone), and a 4,4'- dihalogenobenzophenone.
