PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel ascorbic acid derivative or a salt thereof that has excellent stability or sustainability of the effect, and has excellent adsorptivity to the hair or skin; as well as a cosmetic in which the novel ascorbic acid derivative or a salt thereof is incorporated.SOLUTION: Provided are: an ascorbic acid derivative or a salt thereof in which the hydrogen in the hydroxy group at 2-position and/or 3-position of ascorbic acid, is H, a hydrocarbon group of 1 to 22 carbon atoms, a group represented by R-O-CH-CH(OH)-CH-, a group represented by R-CH(OH)-CH- (Rand Reach independently represents H, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms), or a group having a cationic functional group selected from the group consisting of quarternary ammonium group and guanidino group, as well as in which at least one of the hydrogens in the hydroxy groups at 2-position and 3-position is the group having a cationic functional group; and a cosmetic incorporating the novel ascorbic acid derivative or a salt thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
