1. A set of shelves with uprights which carry inserted elements such as shelves, the vertical uprights (1, 2, 3, 4) having two longitudinal faces (6, 7) parallel to the longitudianl axes (I-I) of the shelves and two transverse faces (8, 9) parallel to the transverse axis (II-II) of the shelves, a vertical median groove (12) being formed in at least one (7) of the longitudinal faces of each upright (1, 2, 3, 4), the inserted elements such as shelves comprising, at each end, longitudinal extensions (13, 14) for engaging between the uprights and a first side of which comprises a projection for engaging in the vertical groove of the corresponding upright, means being provided for vertically locking the inserted elements with respect to the uprights and a filling wedge being inserted between the longitudinal extensions and the uprights for preventing transverse translation of the inserted elements, characterized in that : the shelves or other inserted elements rest on stops (11) fitted to the vertical uprights (1, 2, 3, 4), the first sides of the longitudinal extensions (13, 14), comprise a vertical grooves (15) having a profile complementary to the profile of the vertical groove (12) of the corresponding upright, the second sides of the longitudinal extensions (13, 14) are oblique and comprise a groove (16) opposable to a vertical groove (12) of a corresponding upright for defining a housing (17) intended to receive a wedge shaped locking piece (18), wedge shaped locking pieces (18), adpated for insertion between the verticcal groove (12) of an upright and the opposite groove (16) of the oblique side of a longitudinal extension, play the role of filling wedges for preventing transverse translation of the shelves and further provide lateral, longitudinal, vertical and rotational locking of the shelf with respect to the uprights by jamming, while participating in the rigidity of the shelving assembly.
