PURPOSE:To obtain a tape recorder which can be miniaturized with high handling performance by performing the monaural sound recording with an incorporated microphone and then the stereo sound recording only when an external microphone is used. CONSTITUTION:Switches SW1 and SW2 are kept on while an external microphone is not connected to an external microphone connection jack 2, and the output of an incorporated microphone 1 appears at a terminal T of radio tape changeover switches S1-1 and S1-2 at the tape side via switches SW1 and SW2. Under such conditions, the radio tape changeover switches S1-1-S1-4 are applied to the terminal T of the tape side together with sound recording/reproduction changeover switches S2-1-S2-4 are applied to the terminal of the sound recording side. Thus the output of the microphone 1 is impressed to magnetic heads 3 and 4 via sound recording amplifiers 5 and 6 reproducing amplifiers 7 and 8 respectively to perm the monaural sound recording. When the external microphone for stereo recording is connected to the jack 2, both switches SW1 and SW2 are turned off. Thus the left and right signals given from the external microphone are applied independently to the heads 3 and 4 via amplifiers 5 and 6 and then amplifiers 7 and 8 respectively. |
