PURPOSE:To prevent a damage of an effective display picture area by providing a recessed part on a surface opposed to a substrate of a printed board of a printing device for applying and forming by printing an adhesive agent which becomes a liquid crystal sealing material, and holding an effective display picture of the substrate in a non-contact state. CONSTITUTION:A printed board 30 for applying and forming by printing an adhesive agent for sealing a liquid crystal is provided on a circumferential part 24 of the outside from an effective display picture part of a substrate 1 of a liquid crystal display element, and as for the printed board 20, a recessed part 27 having a plane size shape of the same degree or above as the effective display picture part is formed on the opposed surface to the substrate 1. Also, the printed board 20 is placed on the substrate 1 by positioning so that the recessed part 27 is opposed to the effective display picture part, and a sealing agent 25 is formed by applying an adhesive agent 25 by printing. In this way, the effective display picture part of the liquid crystal display is held in a non- contact state by the recessed part 27, a damage of an orienting layer 3 of the effective picture is prevented, adhesion of dust, etc. from the printed board can be prevented, and a liquid crystal display element which gives a good display is obtained. |
