PURPOSE:To detect the true position of a welded part and thereby to improve the accuracy of measurement, by receiving infrared rays radiated from a ragion in the vicinity of the welded part, and by detecting therefrom the position on the surface of said part at which the temperature of the surface is maximum. CONSTITUTION:Infrared-ray signals radiated from a welded part 3 and inputted to an infared-ray detector 10 are transmitted to a gate scanner 113 through an analog multiscanner 111 and an analog AMP circuit group 112. From the gate scanner 113 the data of N1... are taken out according to instructions of a timing circuit 116, and are compared with preceding data, i.e. the values of a MAX register 117 in a comparator circuit 116. When the input data are larger than the data in the MAX register 117, the values of the input data are put in the MAX register 117 and simultaneously a count signal is delivered to a gate 115. When the content of the MAX register 117 is smaller than the input, the gate 115 is closed so as not to send a signal to a counter 118. Consequently, the position of a peak signal is held in the counter 118. |
