PURPOSE:To make the inclination of an endless recording belt minimum, by making the inclination of rollers to be inclined to correct the deviation of the belt, larger than the sum of one-half of the difference between the circumferential lengthes of both left and right side ends of the belt and the error in the parallelism between both rollers. CONSTITUTION:Due to the difference between the circumferential lengthes of both left and side ends of a belt 1, two rollers 2, 3 for supporting the belt 1 are inclined at an angle theta1 with respect to one another. When the belt 3 is driven in the direction A in this condition, the belt 1 is deviated to the side having the shorter circumferential length. As the method of correcting the deviation of the belt 1, the roller 3 is purposely inclined in a plane orthogonal to the plane including the axes of the rollers 2, 3 to forcingly shift the belt 1. That is, the displacement DELTAY3 should be larger than the sum of one-half of the difference between the circumferential lengthes of the belt and the displacement DELTAY2 in the parallelism of both rollers. With this arrangement, the deviation of the belt may be effectively corrected. |
